Meeting to Decision Log

Turns the end of every meeting into a structured decision page. Fireflies records the call, Claude pulls the decisions out, each decision becomes a row with an owner, a due date, and a one-line context note. The page is linked to the project it belongs to before anyone closes the tab.

Decisions die in Slack. Two weeks later nobody can find what was agreed, and the meeting runs again. This template separates the conversation from the commitment. The transcript stays archived, the decisions live as rows, and the owner field makes "who is doing this" a property, not a guess.

Two databases. Meetings holds the transcript, the attendees, and the linked project. Decisions holds one row per decision with owner, context, due date, and a link back to the meeting where it was made. Views: My open decisions, This week's decisions, Decisions with no owner, Closed this month.

Fireflies captures the meeting. A short prompt asks Claude to pull decisions in a specific format. You paste the output into the Decisions database. The page auto-links to the parent project. The owner gets a Slack ping with a two-line summary and a link to the decision page.

The first failure is owners being left blank "to be assigned later". Assigned later means never. Fix: owner is required on creation.

The second failure is decisions and tasks getting confused. A decision is "we will charge 20% more for annual plans". A task is "update the pricing page on Monday". Fix: this template only tracks decisions. Tasks belong in the task database, with the decision linked as context.
