Weekly CEO Snapshot
The Friday afternoon page that writes itself from the week rollups. The founder reads it on Saturday. Nothing gets sent.
One page that writes itself from the week's data. Revenue this week, pipeline this week, shipped this week, blocked this week, hires this week. No email, no Slack, no Google Doc. The founder opens one link on Saturday morning and sees the week.
Founders get status updates through four channels: ops email, Slack DMs, ad-hoc calls, guessing. None of them agree. This template makes one canonical Saturday page the source of truth. If a metric is not on it, it does not count this week. If it is, everyone above and below it is reading the same number.
No new database. One template page with live rollups from existing databases: Deals (for pipeline), Tasks (for shipped), Hires (if applicable), Incidents (if applicable). Plus a one-paragraph field for the ops lead to add context each week.
The page is a template that instantiates each Friday afternoon. Rollups pull the week's data automatically. The ops lead fills the context paragraph by 5 PM Friday. The founder opens the link Saturday morning, reads for 10 minutes, comments on any row that needs a follow-up conversation.
The first failure is the page turning into a dashboard with 15 metrics. Nobody reads 15 metrics in 10 minutes. Fix: five metrics maximum. Anything else sits in a linked "details" page the founder opens only when curious.
The second failure is the ops lead pasting a long paragraph instead of a three-line summary. Fix: the context field has a word count limit. Over budget, it does not save.
